A waterproof hard case with a 500 x 350 x 194 mm interior, sized for a full working photography kit — two bodies, a spread of lenses, flash and support. The Case Kavach Vantage 350 seals against water and dust, takes the knocks of road, rail and air transport, and ships with foam and a cutter so you can shape the inside to your own kit on day one.

The shell is moulded in polypropylene with thick walls and corrosion-resistant nylon hardware. A continuous seal in the lid gives an IP67 rating against water and dust. An automatic pressure equalisation valve balances internal pressure on flights and altitude changes without letting moisture in. Two-stage snap closures open by hand but stay shut under shock, and padlock eyelets take a travel lock. A full-length hinge keeps the body square over years of use.

Interior depth splits 136 mm in the base and 58 mm in the cover, so taller items stand in the base while the lid layer takes cables, chargers, filters and paperwork. Total volume is 33.9 litres and the empty case weighs 3.9 kg. Working from -30°C to 90°C.

Key Features

  • IP67 sealed protection: A continuous lid seal keeps out water, dust and humidity in the field and in transit.
  • Impact-resistant shell: Thick polypropylene walls absorb shock and stay stable from -30°C to 90°C.
  • Automatic pressure equalisation valve: Balances internal pressure on flights and altitude changes without admitting moisture.
  • Two-stage snap closures: Open easily by hand, hold under drops and vibration, and take a padlock through the eyelets.
  • 136 mm base and 58 mm cover: A depth split that suits gear in the base and flat accessories in the lid, rather than one open cavity.
  • Foam and cutter included: Solid foam sheets, convoluted foam fitted in the lid, and a snap-off cutter, in the box.
  • Black or orange: High-visibility orange for field, rescue and site work where the case has to be spotted or not left behind.
  • Certified to IP67, ATA 300, STANAG 4280, DEF-STAN 81-41, MIL-STD-810H: Test documentation is available on request for tender and procurement submissions.

Case, Foam and Cutter — choosing your foam

Every case ships with the cut-to-fit set, so it is usable the day it arrives.

  • Cut-to-Fit Foam + Cutter (included): Solid foam sheets, a convoluted sheet already fitted in the lid, and a snap-off cutter. Lay your gear on the top sheet, mark the outline, cut. A body and two lenses takes about twenty minutes. Cut a fresh sheet whenever your kit changes.
  • Pluck Foam (Pre-Cubed): The same foam, pre-scored into small cubes. Pull cubes out by hand to open a pocket — no knife, no dust. Quicker than cutting, but the walls come out stepped rather than smooth, so smaller items sit a little looser.
  • Custom CNC-Cut Foam — the best fit available: Send us your equipment list and the foam is machine-cut to the exact outline, with a finger-lift notch at every item. Nothing shifts in transit and nothing rubs. It is the only option that properly holds an awkward shape — a matte box, a gimbal with the arm still on, a monitor in its cage — and it is what rental houses and broadcast crews order. Priced per case and per layout: contact us with your kit list for a quotation.
  • Case Only (No Foam): For fitting your own dividers, a rack tray, or a padded insert carried over from another case.

Foam is cut to the 500 x 350 x 194 mm interior. Allow about 20 mm of foam on each side once cut, which leaves roughly 460 x 310 x 154 mm of usable space.

What Fits

The 500 x 350 mm footprint with a 136 mm base takes the following, allowing 20 to 25 mm of foam around each item.

  • Full camera kit: Two bodies, five lenses, two speedlights, triggers, batteries and cards.
  • Wedding or event kit: Everything for a day's shooting, with the lid layer for chargers and cables.
  • Drone kit: One prosumer drone, controller, six batteries, hub, filters and landing pad.
  • Lighting kit: Two to three LED panels with modifiers and battery plates.
  • Rental package: A checked-out kit list that has to survive courier handling.

Beyond the camera bag

The standards behind this case — IP67, ATA 300, STANAG 4280, DEF-STAN 81-41, MIL-STD-810H — are field-equipment standards, not photography ones. The same 500 x 350 x 194 mm interior is used for field survey packages, portable diagnostic systems, weapon optics sets and instrument calibration kits. Foam is cut to whatever you are carrying.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Vantage 350 fully waterproof?
Yes. It carries an IP67 rating, which means fully dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water.

What comes in the box?
The case, solid foam sheets, a convoluted foam sheet already fitted in the lid, and a snap-off cutter. Nothing else to buy to get started.

How deep is the case, and how is that depth divided?
Interior depth is 194 mm in total, split as a 136 mm base and a 58 mm cover. Taller items stand in the base while the lid layer holds cables, chargers and flat accessories.

How much space do I actually get after foam?
Allow about 20 mm of foam on each side. That leaves roughly 460 x 310 x 154 mm, or about 22.0 litres of the 33.9 litre total.

Which foam should I choose?
Cut-to-fit ships with the case and suits most people. Pluck foam is faster but less precise. Custom CNC-cut foam gives the best fit and is the right choice for a fixed kit that travels constantly — send us your equipment list for a quotation.

Can I re-cut the foam later if my kit changes?
Yes. The sheets are solid, so you cut a new layout in a fresh sheet. Replacement foam sets are available for every size in the range.

Can I check this in as airline baggage?
Yes. The pressure equalisation valve balances internal air pressure during flight without letting in dust or water, and the padlock eyelets accept a travel lock.

Is IP67 enough for monsoon transport?
Yes. IP67 means fully dust-tight and protected against immersion in one metre of water for thirty minutes, well beyond what rain or a wet loading bay will do.

What is the difference between black and orange?
Only the colour. Same shell, same seal, same certification. Orange is chosen for field, rescue and site work where the case has to be spotted quickly.

What certifications does it hold, and can I get the documents?
IP67, ATA 300, STANAG 4280, DEF-STAN 81-41, MIL-STD-810H. Test documentation is available on request for tender and procurement submissions.

Do you supply institutions and government departments?
Yes. We handle volume, institutional and government orders, including custom foam cutting to a supplied equipment list. Contact us for a quotation.

What is the warranty?
Five years against manufacturing defects in the shell, seal, hinge and latches.
