Why dye-sublimation for events

Dye-sub prints emerge dry, sealed and touch-ready in seconds, with a protective overcoat applied as part of the process. That makes them water and fingerprint resistant straight out of the machine — essential when a guest at an Indian wedding or corporate event handles a print immediately. Inkjet cannot match the speed or the handling durability in that setting.

Understanding media sets

These printers consume matched ribbon-and-paper media sets, and the media determines both your print size options and your cost per print. A media set yields a fixed number of prints, so plan capacity around expected event volume rather than buying short. Some models print multiple sizes from one media set by splitting the sheet — worth checking, since it changes your effective cost per print significantly.

Choosing a model

The RX1HS is the compact, high-speed workhorse for photo booths and high-volume events. The DS620 handles 6-inch output for general event work. The DS820 extends to 8-inch prints for larger formats and studio use. Match to your busiest event, not your average one.
